Now through May 20, John’s Island Real Estate Company will be collecting unopened, shelf-stable food items to help United Against Poverty (UP) of Indian River County.
Seasonal residents planning to clean out their pantries before leaving for the summer, or full-time residents who are reorganizing their pantries, can help our local families in need by supporting UP’s efforts to bridge the hunger gap that exists for the families of over 10,000 school-age children in Indian River County.
UP inspires and empowers people living in poverty to lift themselves and their family to economic self-sufficiency by offering hunger relief, crisis care, transformative education and employment training opportunities.
Your donations will help to supply their food pantry, which tends to be emptier in the summer months and during the holiday breaks when children are off school and seasonal workers are unemployed. You can also donate a tax-deductible gift securely on-line at www.unitedagainstpoverty.org.
